Wiz Khalifa Covers Complex Magazine Issue

Rap stardom in 2012 is a high-wire act. Just ask Wiz Khalifa. The Pittsburgh spitter has progressed from mixtape hero to Internet sensation to bonafide superstar. Mainstream hits like “Roll Up” and “Black & Yellow” have allowed him to enjoy the finer things in life, but they’ve also brought complaints from longtime Taylor Gang fans that Wiz switched his style up in pursuit of pop stardom. You can’t please everybody, but Wiz knows that maintaining a successful career in hip-hop is all about staying true to yourself while striking the perfect balance.

With his sophomore album, O.N.I.F.C., dropping this fall, Wiz was a natural choice for the cover of our October/November issue. First photographer Bryce Duffy created some over-the-top images, then Complex assistant editor Insanul Ahmed put together a revealing portrait of an artist elevating to the next level.
